Electric Scooters – 7 Myths Debunked!

Even if knowing the fact that gasoline scooters and cars cause air pollution on combustion, we don’t really opt for electric scooters that offer environment-friendly transportation. This might be because of some myths we really believe in. But this piece of content is going to bust your myths and perhaps change your perception towards electric bikes, scooters or cars. So have a read, please!

Myth 1: An electric bike is just like an ordinary moped or any conventional two-wheeler!

Clarification: It’s not at all like a conventional two-wheeler. It is totally different in all the manners. A conventional scooter runs by petrol, diesel or gas whereas an electric scooter is driven by an electric motor and rechargeable battery.

Myth 2: It makes too much noise!

Clarification: As electric bikes don’t have any complex mechanism such as an engine, a gear box, a controller, a clutch plate or a converter; they don’t produce noise. They go very smoothly and peacefully.

Myth 3: Electric scooters are heavy in weight!

Clarification: Due to the absence of heavy components such as engine, tank or gear box, these automobiles are very light in weight. They only consist of a battery and a motor as major parts that make them almost three times lighter than the conventional ones.

Myth 4: They are inconvenient to ride!

Clarification: Their light weight makes them convenient to drive. Moreover, they come with easy and user-friendly controls and so, are easier to manage.

Myth 5: They offer very less speed!

Clarification: Those were old days when the electric bike manufacturing companies used to manufacture less-speed automobiles. But today, the scenario is different. The companies have started to introduce the trendy and high-speed electrical bikes.

Myth 6: They’re pretty much expensive!

Clarification: Many of us think that electric scooters are too expensive and at their price, any popular petrol vehicle can be purchased. But that is not the fact. Plus, any normal fuel-driven automobile would cost you too much for its pricey fuels. On the contrary, electric scooters need a regular battery recharging whose cost is minor, when compared with the fuel expenses.

Myth 7: eBikes require heavy maintenance!

Clarification: Absolutely wrong! No complex mechanics! No oil changes! Hence, almost zero maintenance.
